A Nameless and Faceless Generation

I went to a Christian school growing up, and in my bible class in high school the teacher asked us to write down our life motto. I knew exactly what to put without thinking.

“When people see me, I want them to see Him first.”

I’ve always lived my life this way. I used to work in an environment that had all sorts of people of different beliefs, ethnicities, religions and sexual preferences. My prayer every day was that people would see something different about me. One day, one of my employees told me exactly what I had always prayed – “Your eyes are so warm and friendly. There’s something about you I can’t put my finger on.”

Gosh, my heart swelled! Thank you Jesus.

I truly believe God is looking for people that He can use in every day situations in an extraordinary way. You don’t need a big name, fame, fortune, or a lot of followers to be used by God. He chose fishermen as his disciples after all. He’s looking for those with clean hands and pure heart, those who don’t care about status, those who live their everyday life to see the Kingdom of God advance.

God is looking for and raising up end-time messengers. Regular people who have a heart for Jesus and people. People that are nameless and faceless. WE are the body of Christ, not just ministers, pastors and preachers who are well known.

If I’m being completely honest, I’ve struggled greatly with starting this blog because, well, of those exact reasons. I call it the “Moses mentality” – I’m not a big name, I have no platform or credibility. I’m just a girl who loves the Lord. And honestly, that’s all I have.

As I was praying about this, the Lord spoke very clearly to me and said, “Exactly. That’s why I picked you.”

The more you cling on to in this world, the more likely you will try to take recognition from Him. He deserves the glory. Not you or me. If Satan can try to tempt Jesus with all the riches of the world, what makes you think he can’t/won’t try to tempt us? I believe that’s why there are many celebrities that have come out of nowhere to such fame. Unfortunately, some want their riches now.

God is looking for ordinary people who don’t care about anything this world has to offer. He’s looking for obedience.

Living a life on the frontline will come with sacrifice, and part of that sacrifice is your flesh. Our humanity wants recognition, but our spirit wants Him to have the glory. I want to be famous in heaven. I want there to be a huge party when I come home because of what I’ve done here for the kingdom of God. Nothing this world can offer me will ever compare to that. We’ve got to start living our lives from a vertical perspective, not horizontally. God is raising up people with no ties to anything in particular, but they have a heart for Him. Is that you?

Has God told you to say or do something? DO IT. Take that step and speak out, speak up and let the world know what He’s said. Do it in your workplace, your social life and your personal life. What has He told you to do that you’re not doing? Maybe you’re still praying for Him to use you. Have ears to hear and a heart that obeys! WE are the remnant and the body. Let’s band together and forge forward for the Kingdom with our eyes on Him always.
