I remember hearing a story one time of a man that did a science project where he had two plants. Everyday he would speak life over one of the plants. “You’re such a good plant. You’re growing so beautifully.” He would speak death over the other plant. “Look how horrible you’re growing. You’re so ugly.” Guess which plant lived longer? A lot of times we are doing the same thing in our lives. We look at situations with a negative mindset and speak death over it – sometimes without knowing it. I think there are a lot of people right now that need to speak life over their current situations.
For me, I spent years believing in “death.” Believing that I wasn’t good enough or wasn’t doing the “right” things in order for God to restore. It wasn’t until I believed in speaking life over my situation that things started to turn around. Your current situation may look hopeless, but if I can tell you anything it’s that things are never hopeless in Christ. You have to catch yourself when you start speaking negative things over yourself or your situation. The enemy can take those negative words and use them.
As a believer in Christ, I have Him living inside of me. Which means, nothing can stand against me because of Him. Every situation has to bow down to the God inside of me because who can stand before Him? No one and no thing. We have to learn to be the spiritual beings that we are instead of the human beings that we think we are. Our flesh is temporary, but our spirits are eternal. That’s why you can think and feel like you’re 16 years old but look in the mirror and see something totally different. Your spirit never ages.
When it comes to physical healing, you have to learn to line up your body with your spirit. It’s a literal mind-over-matter. The pain you feel, the disease you’re fighting, the diagnosis you’ve been given – they all HAVE to bow down to The Spirit that’s inside of you. YOU ARE A SPIRIT, not a human. When it comes to a hopeless situation that you’re in or praying for, you have to think of the spirit realm. Speak and pray life into the situation. We don’t fight against flesh and blood. (Ephesians 6:12)
Maybe you’re facing a situation that is completely out of your control – you’re trying to have a baby, your spouse is leaving you, your doctor diagnosed you with a disease, you’re single and trying to find a spouse, you’re praying for your children to come back to the Lord, you lost your job and money is tight. These are just a few situations that leave us with no control. You can’t force someone to love you, you can’t force your body or your wife’s body to make a baby, you can’t force your children to make better decisions, you can’t make money grow on trees. What you can do is speak life and scripture over yourself.
“I will have a baby because the Bible says that none will miscarry or be barren.” (Exodus 23:26)
“I will find the perfect match for me because the Lord gives us the desires of our hearts.” (Psalm 37:4)
“I will find a job because the Lord provides and will meet all my needs.” (Philippians 4:19)
“My child will return to the Lord because the Bible says that if I train them up in the Lord then when they get older they will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
“I will be healed of this disease because by Jesus’ wounds I am healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
“My husband or wife will return to our marriage because I proclaim that what God joined together, let no one separate.” (Mark 10:9)
Take a step back and look at your situation with new eyes, the eyes of Jesus. He restores, He heals, He provides – those are aspects of who He is. If you believe in Him, those aspects of Him are available to you anytime you want it. Don’t let fear creep into your heart and mind. Speak life over yourself and watch your situation change.

Just as a side testimony, I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this, I started this blog with the intent to encourage others who are going through hard times. The Lord told me to start it, and I fought it. I didn’t want anybody really knowing what I was going through. After months of feeling like I was being disobedient, I started it. After a month, I found out I was pregnant. So, if God is telling you to do something, do it! Your promise land may be just around the corner. I have a list of couples that I pray for who are specifically trying to start a family. Just this year, I checked three of those couples off of my list. These are couples that have been trying for years and/or lost babies through miscarriage. I believe the Lord put me through the oil press in order to have fresh oil from heaven in this certain area. If you or someone you know would like prayer, please let me know.
